Have you missed me? it has been a long time since I have sent a blog post our to everyone. It has been a busy summer, but I took some time on purpose for family and friends and I am so glad I did! I feel refreshed.
School is starting back and I am ready to get back in the swing of things. Recently I made a couple of new beautiful pieces of jewelry. One of them I thought would make a great class. I was encouraged to do so, and so I have.
I have set 2 dates for this class ONLY and I won't be offering it again until next spring or summer. I am also only taking 4 students per class.
It is not a beginner class, however I feel that if you have had a couple of classes with me or have previous experience soldering or fusing silver, then you will be perfectly fine to take this class.
You will make 1 - Argentium Silver Hammer Set Cabochon Wire Cuff
(stone will be provided but may not be as shown)
You will learn basic:
Forming cuff from square wire
Forming and adding decorative swirl to cuff
Fusing Argentium Silver
Measuring and forming a bezel
Forming a step bezel
Fusing bezel to backplate
Soldering stone setting to cuff
Hammer setting stone
This is not a beginner class. You must have had at least one class (or experience) fusing or soldering prior to this class. It will take a full 8 hours.
In this class you will set a cabochon using the hammer set method. This method is used by advanced cab setters as the bezel is thicker and will hold the stone more sturdily. We will also add a step inside the bezel. This will provide a nice deep bezel wall.
I will only accept 4 students per class for this project.
Classes are held in my studio in Edmond, OK. Once you have enrolled you will receive an email with detailed instructions and the address.
Again let me emphasize that there will only be the 2 classes I have on the schedule and only 4 students per class so it is first come, first enrolled.
I have both a weekday class - Thursday August 23rd, 2018 - AND a weekend class - Saturday August 25th, 2018
I would also like to ask you each a favor, will you share this blog to others who you feel might be interested? I am trying to increase my email base and I know that word of mouth is the best way. Thank you so much in advance.
I look forward to seeing you in class!!!
